So we sent Dave Cook one of our more random Spurs Zone prizes – a signed interview backdrop! So now David’s the one getting interviewed behind the famous backdrop that all his favourite players have been in front of. We sent the interview board to David’s work and let’s just say it caused a bit of a stir in the office but everyone wanted to have a picture in front of it! David’s pal’s even mocked up an interview using a remote control for a mic! I’m sure we’ll be putting on plenty more exclusive prizes similar to this one to get you feeling closer to the club you love.
Jermain Defoe enjoyed his moment in the spotlight as the Spurs Zone fans forum produced much fun and laughter at the Lane on Tuesday, October 18th.
The popular striker reflected on his return to goalscoring ways, the player he misses the most and dressing room banter. From worst-dressed to biggest joker, Defoe’s playful responses ensured an entertaining evening was enjoyed by all.
“Pav’s dress sense is a joke!” laughed the England international at one stage, “He’ll come in and we’ll all wonder what he’s wearing. Sometimes he just picks a designer, so he’ll arrive with the Gucci belt, Gucci t-shirt, shoes and everything!
On a more serious note, he also explained how he has recaptured his best form: “I went away in the summer and did some work on my legs. I’m noticing especially towards the later stages of the game where in previous years you might get fatigued, I feel like I can keep running.”
A group of Sportingbet Spurs Zone winners cast their eye over a first team training session ahead of the North London derby and they had positive news to report after meeting Harry Redknapp and a host first team players at Spurs Lodge.
Stephen Berry, Jason Johnson, David Kay and Andrew Giles received a Spurs shirt on us before heading out to the pitches, where the likes of Emmaunuel Adebayor, Jermain Defoe and Gareth Bale looked in jovial mood.
When the session came to an end, manager Harry Redknapp took some time out with the winners, while Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone and the mad-haired Sandro were among the Tottenham Hotspur stars to pose for pictures. Apparently the Brazilian originally dyed his hair red – big mistake!
The final twist was coming face-to-face with club captain Ledley King in the car park, which proved the perfect end to a great morning for our loyal supporters.
The Sportingbet Spurs Zone handed Jon Campbell a birthday to remember as he graced the White Hart Lane turf in pursuit of £2,500 playing Bet You Score.
Having won his big chance in Get Close, birthday boy Jon tucked into a three-course meal before the Liverpool clash but held back on the drinks with that bumper prize in mind. The target was to score without the ball bouncing from the penalty spot, edge of the area, midway down the half and the halfway line, with the option to cash out or gamble for more at each stage.
Jon headed out at the break in a personalised Spurs shirt and with the crowd cheering him on, he beat the first three levels (with a little leniency from the judges!). Faced with the decision whether to take £250 or go for four figures, he bowed to the will of the 30,000-strong crowd and took his shot... but missed! “Niko Kranjcar put me off!” he protested, “I didn’t win any money but it was the best experience of my life and definitely a birthday I’ll never forget.”

The Sportingbet Spurs Zone capped a fantastic debut season by pitting a team of winners against a staff XI at White Hart Lane and it proved an entertaining affair.
Claiming home advantage were Rob Stait, James Vincent and Jude Peiris among others, as the winners took to the plush home dressing room and donned the famous white and blue strip.
They gelled quickly and took an early lead before the Sportingbet side fought back to edge a close game 4-2, with a penalty save proving a turning point.
Both teams shared food, drink and a trophy presentation after the match, before taking home their kits as a memento of the day. Well-played all!
New Spurs hero Sandro stepped in for our latest fans forum and the Brazilian was in fine form after scoring his first goal for the club.
That wonder strike vs Chelsea was followed by strict orders from the gaffer, apparently, as Harry Redknapp demanded the defensive midfielder stay tight to Frank Lampard.
Other topics on the agenda were Sandro’s top starting 11, how he’s settled in at White Hart Lane and his role as dressing room joker!
The evening was capped off by autograph signing and photos with the Brazil star, who proved a big hit with the Spurs faithful in attendance.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp took time out from masterminding his side’s assault on the Premier League top four to hang out with a group of fans at Spurs Lodge.
The eager supporters had already been greeted by a host of first team players – with autographs all round – by the time the former Portsmouth and Southampton manager emerged and he was in positive mood ahead of the North London derby.
The pick of questions saw Harry reveal his dream signing as Lionel Messi, highlight good old fashioned hard work as the key to becoming a professional footballer and even hint his preference was for club over international management.
Michael Dawson stepped into the hotseat for the Sportingbet Spurs Zone fans forum and proved a more than able replacement for the absent Peter Crouch.
The current Spurs captain and England international fielded questions from around 30 fans in all, with Sportingbet’s Head of Media Russ Wiseman playing host on a hugely successful evening at White Hart Lane.
Dawson answered questions on a huge range of topics, from the content of his pre-match huddle talks to the experience of having David Beckham in the camp.
You can read a transcript of Michael’s answers and even listen to the audio of the fans forum by downloading it here.

The Spurs Lodge welcomed its first group of Sportingbet Spurs Zone winners to the club training ground on February 8th – and it proved an A-list experience!
After watching the likes of Tim Sherwood, Les Ferdinand and Tony Parkes put the Academy players and goalkeeping staff through their paces, the autograph hunt began and it was one of the most coveted signatures in the world that was first in the bag.
Our winners had been hoping to catch a glimpse of David Beckham on the training pitch but they went one better by coming face-to-face with the England legend, who was happy to stop and sign their complimentary Spurs shirt and pose for pictures.
With the likes of Gareth Bale, Jermaine Jenas and Aaron Lennon also stopping by to mingle with winners Gareth Thomas and son Joe, Liam Skidmore, Jason Bantock and Rebecca Ballard and son James, it was a day to remember for all concerned.
